How to Survive Wave 10 in Circlegame
Advanced survival guide · Updated September 17, 2026 · Applies to Circlegame v0.7
Almost every Circlegame run ends in the same place: somewhere between wave 8 and wave 10. It is not bad luck — it is the point where three curves cross. The arena is crowded, your own missed shots have turned into red bullets, and the next wave arrives before you have cleaned up the last one. This guide breaks down exactly what happens at wave 10 and the five habits that get you past it. If you have not read the basics yet, start with How to Play and the full scoring and waves reference.

Three things happen at once. First, enemies never despawn — every enemy you fail to kill stays in the arena forever, so the crowd compounds. Second, the wave timer has already hit its 20 second ceiling, so waves arrive at maximum rate. Third, enemy speed keeps climbing, which shrinks the time you have to line up a shot.
- Crowding. Killing nothing through wave 10 leaves up to 55 enemies alive at once (1+2+3+…+10).
- Red bullets. Every missed shot bounces off the wall and comes back lethal. The more crowded the arena, the more shots miss.
- Speed. Enemies reach 86 px/s at wave 10 versus 66 at wave 5, so they cross your firing line faster.
The wave 10 numbers
These are the live values in the current build — no hidden modifiers.
| Wave | Enemies added | Interval to next wave | Enemy speed |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 | 5 | 18 s | 66 px/s |
| 8 | 8 | 20 s | 78 px/s |
| 10 | 10 | 20 s | 86 px/s |
| 12 | 12 (cap) | 20 s | 94 px/s |
| 15 | 12 (cap) | 20 s | 106 px/s |
Intervals follow 8 + 2 × wave seconds, capped at 20. Enemy speed follows 46 + 4 × wave, capped at 140. Enemies are released one every 0.5 seconds, never in a single clump — that half second is your repositioning window.
Five rules that carry you past wave 10
1. Clear, never just survive
Leftover enemies are the real difficulty curve, not the wave number. Ten enemies from wave 5 are far more dangerous than ten fresh ones, because they are already spread across the arena. Prioritise kills over safety: an empty arena is always survivable.
2. Put enemies on the line to the centre
Your weapon always fires toward the exact centre — you cannot aim. So the only way to hit something is to stand on the far side of it, with the centre behind it. Think of yourself as the tail of an arrow that points at the middle of the arena.
3. Move on the two second beat
A shot leaves every 2 seconds, automatically. Do not chase enemies — predict where the line will be when the shot fires and be there first. Good players spend most of their time setting up the next shot rather than reacting to the last one.
4. Stay off the wall
Missed shots bounce off the ring and turn red. The wall is literally where red bullets are created, so hugging it is the fastest way to die. Keep a buffer of roughly a third of the radius between you and the ring.
5. Read the spawn warning
Every spawn is announced one second early by a red warning dot, always on the side opposite you. That second is enough to drift away and give yourself a clean approach lane.
Managing your own bouncing bullets
After wave 8, most deaths are self-inflicted. A white bullet kills enemies; a bullet that hits nothing bounces off the wall, turns red, and kills you on contact. Two habits keep the arena clean:
- Fire from angles that have an out. If the line to the centre is empty, your shot will bounce. Either wait for a target or accept that you are creating a red bullet and move out of its return path immediately.
- Track returns, not just enemies. A red bullet travelling toward the wall will bounce again. Build a mental map of the two or three red bullets already in play; they are more predictable than the enemies.
A wave-by-wave plan to 15+
| Phase | Goal | Priority |
|---|---|---|
| Waves 1–3 | Clear everything, take no risks | Build an empty-arena habit |
| Waves 4–6 | Keep the arena below ~6 enemies | Kill the oldest enemies first |
| Waves 7–9 | Protect your escape lanes | Stop firing into empty space |
| Wave 10+ | Survive on rhythm, not reaction | Pre-position on the spawn warning |

Mistakes that end runs at wave 10
- Camping near the wall to feel safe — it is where red bullets originate.
- Spam-firing into empty space, filling your own arena with lethal traffic.
- Ignoring the oldest enemies, which quietly turn into an unmanageable crowd.
- Chasing kills instead of setting up the next 2 second shot.
- Panic movement — fast, directionless drifting puts you on collision courses you cannot see.
Quick questions
How many enemies are on screen at wave 10?
Wave 10 adds 10. If you kill nothing at all across waves 1–10, up to 55 can be alive at once.
Does clearing faster make waves come sooner?
Yes — the countdown runs 2.2× faster while the arena is empty, so the next wave can arrive in about 5 seconds. Still worth it.
Why do my own bullets kill me?
Every shot flies toward the centre. Miss, and it bounces off the ring, turns red, and any contact is fatal.
What counts as a good score?
Each kill is 100 points. Clearing everything through wave 10 is worth 5,500 points, so above 5,000 means you passed wave 10 with a clean arena.
